Genuity’s Okta integration combines Okta’s utilization and employee data with spend, licensing, and application data to give teams insight into their full cloud environment. Get a complete picture of application utilization with user access tracking, identification of application provisioning, and usage analysis.

  1.  Login to Genuity as a user or administrator. You will need to have edit permissions for the Vendors module.
  2. Navigate to the Vendors Module → Connectors Tab → Okta and click sync account. 
  3. You’ll need the organization and token of your Okta account to integrate.
  4.  To get these credentials, please follow the below instructions.

Get the organization name

Step 1: Click on the "Admin" button.

Step 2: Click on the menu icon


Step 3: Expand the “Settings” tab and then click on the “Account” tab.

Copy the company name which will be used as an organization name for Okta integration.


Get the token

Step 1: Click on the "Admin" button.

Step 2: Click on the menu icon

Step 3: Click here to expand the Security Tab.



Step 4: Click on the API tab. 


Step 5: Select the “Token” tab and then click on “Create token”.

Step 6: Add a name for the new token and click on the “Create Token” button.

Step 7: Copy the newly generated token.


You can use the organization name and token  for Okta integration’s form in the Genuity app. Once synced, Genuity will pull in all your usage details and route this information to discovered applications.

Syncing with Okta requires an administrator account that is used to authorize the Genuity application to access your Okta usage details. But don't sweat it. The Okta admin account that you use is never sent to Genuity. It is a direct web authentication to Okta that enables the Genuity application with read-only permissions.
