People & Asset Tags in Child Company Management

Prev Next

The Child Company Management module has been enhanced with new tag management capabilities, enabling organizations to maintain greater consistency across their company hierarchy. This update allows parent companies to distribute standardized Asset and People tags to their child companies, ensuring a unified classification structure while maintaining centralized governance and control.

Key Updates:

Tag Copying Across Child Companies:

Parent company administrators can now create and copy both Asset and People Tags across their child companies. This functionality makes it easier to standardize tagging practices throughout the organization, ensuring consistency in how assets and personnel are categorized and managed.

Immediate Tag Availability:

Once copied, the tags become available within the respective child company and can be assigned to assets and people just like locally created tags. This helps teams quickly adopt company-wide tagging standards without the need to recreate tags manually.

Centralized Tag Governance:

To preserve consistency and prevent unauthorized modifications, tags that have been copied from a parent company cannot be edited or deleted directly within child companies. This ensures that standardized tags remain aligned across the entire organizational structure.

Tag Removal Request Workflow:

If a child company no longer requires a copied tag, users can submit a removal request to the parent company administrator. The administrator can then review the request and choose to either approve or reject it, providing an additional layer of oversight and control.

Improved Organizational Consistency:

By centralizing tag management while still allowing child companies to request changes through a controlled approval process, organizations can maintain cleaner data, improve reporting accuracy, and ensure consistent asset and personnel classification across all business units.

This enhancement strengthens the relationship between parent and child companies by introducing a scalable and governed approach to tag management. With centralized control, standardized categorization, and an approval-based removal process, organizations can achieve greater consistency, visibility, and operational efficiency across their entire company structure.
