MFA Setup Enhancements

Prev

The MFA setup process using an Authenticator App has been enhanced to provide greater flexibility and accessibility during configuration. This update improves the user experience by offering an alternative setup method alongside the existing QR code based approach, ensuring users can successfully configure MFA even when QR code scanning is not available.

Key Updates:

Secret Key Display During MFA Setup:

The MFA configuration screen now displays the authenticator secret key in addition to the QR code. This allows users to manually configure their authenticator application when scanning a QR code is not possible or convenient.

Improved Accessibility and Flexibility:

By supporting both QR code scanning and manual secret key entry, the MFA setup process becomes more accessible across a wider range of devices and user scenarios. Whether users are configuring MFA on a separate device or experiencing issues with QR code scanning, they now have a reliable alternative method available.

Enhanced User Experience:

The addition of the secret key provides greater convenience and helps ensure a smoother onboarding experience for MFA, reducing setup barriers while maintaining the same level of security.

This enhancement makes MFA configuration more user friendly and versatile by supporting multiple setup methods. By displaying and allowing easy copying of the authenticator secret key, users can securely enable MFA in the way that best suits their device and workflow.
